Welcome to Draygon Crafts
I have set up ‘Draygon Crafts’ and plan to specialise in craft kits and classes. We are trialing our products in South East Queensland craft markets and hope to go further afield. This has been great for getting feedback from customers and the opportunity to demonstrate how easy it is to do crafts. Check out This That & Totally Irrelevant. Each month will have something different and something irrelevant for fun or thought. Expect a few recipes too. Here are a few of the coming projects.

About us In my early teens I try to teach myself copper enamelling using my father's blowtorch and copper cut from an old hot water system. Little success, lotsa fun! When the tools for crafts I wanted to do were not available I've had to do a lot of improvising. I‘ve used electrician’s tools for making and repairing jewellery. Beads were cut from old evening gowns and jewellery from second-hand stores broke in down for the components. When shown me how to make paper beads I went on to show the students at my daughter's school. The youngster got great results and the range of modern finishes available inspired me to experiment and see how just much can be done. Natasha and I are planning a book on making paper beads. It is her hands in the photos and many of the beads and jewellery her work. Some of the beads resemble pearls and glass. People often find it hard to believe they are paper until holding them and realise how light they are. The lightweight makes them comfortable to wear especially compared to glass beads of the same size. I am currently working on a technique with wire and seed beads. The easiest way to describe it years a cross between French Beaded Flowers and beaded square stitch. But the truth is I get side tracked into new projects constantly. Crafts no long a survival skill, today they are are for enjoying. So have fun Rae
